Goat.
I mean, really: goat.
Count up all the times I never gave a goat, smash them into one big goat, and that would be the one sitting in my head, because I goating goated goating Potter. There’s no excuse, no tiptoeing away on snappy retorts — we goated in the lake.

“…OH DEAR MERLIN, THERE ARE FIRST YEARS IN THIS ROOM, HANNAH!”
Hannah quickly extracted herself from straddling Jeremy’s lap and stopped what seemed to be inhaling his face.
Capers
Every first week of school, some first year would go missing for a whole day only to stagger out of the maze in the dead of night, gasping for food and water.
Rose brightened, almost to the point where she wouldn’t scare away first years on sight.
It was almost as if a parade were marching past the room, but Hogwarts hadn’t had one since one of the first years got stuck in their fly-trap tuba.
The no-holds barred rush commenced to the refreshments table; three first years were harmed in the process.
James swung her around (another two first years were harmed)
etc. etc. surprisingly does not have much first year abuse, but they like to appear out of nowhere
We jostle past the feverish first years bounding out of Herbology.
I’m heading back to the dungeons when this first year barrels down the hallway out of nowhere.
A first year leaps into view behind Babbling, followed by three more girls.
i like to imagine there’s a small army of small witches and wizards ready to trip over their feet on cue
Ahh always excited to know I made it on anyone’s constant-reread list! c: Sorry for the late responses; I’ve finally got my tablet and photoshop working on the new laptop (clearing out the inbox was easier than I thought because I cheated by answering two questions with one doodle)
I didn’t do the quirky mouth on purpose. I am not nearly clever enough to think of that. I vaguely remember my thought process going like this: something that starts with an A, then instead of one of those hyphenated names that are so popular, what about just Hyphen, and Colon sounded surname-y and thus APOSTROPHE HYPHEN COLON was born.
Answer:
Eee, thank you! :3 I am totally undeserving being so sluggish and wallowy lately.
I answered a similar question on a thread on The Golden Snitches recently, about my character creation process, and generally, my stories ideas have formed around the main characters:
I realized that I don’t really know my characters until I write them for a good amount—which is why I’m really excited for OF, because then I don’t have to write serially! I have an idea of their personality, but not so much how they’ll react to a specific conflict until I actually get to writing it, if that makes sense. But also a lot of the initial inspiration comes from character types that I feel are underrepresented or misrepresented. From ‘Capers’, Bea started as ‘what if I put the token genki girl* (m) in the main role?’ and Anjali was ‘let’s put turn the sometimes-villain-anti-hero that’s usually a hot male who stars in tumblr gif sets into a female’ and Clemence was a product of my frustration over ice queens always having a heel-faced-turn* (m) change of heart/tragic backstory as justificiation.
Those bits about Bea and Clemence’s characterizations are a huge part of how both of those stories got started. Plots tend to be fairly malleable for me.
When I started writing Capers, I wanted to write something ‘like Ocean’s 11 and Inception with rappelling and anti-gravity hallway fights’, but it doesn’t end up having either rappelling or JGL defying physics. I’d seen it as a slick adventure fic with lots of bromance, and it became a derpy adventure fic with friendship and cupcakes, which has its own charms!
When I started writing etc., which wasn’t long after, I wanted to write something that was a guilty pleasure for myself. I write what I want to write at the moment, which can mean some diatribe on teenage social norms, hidden message involving fandom dynamics or, well, gratuitous snogging. So while Capers is the story I’d like to read, etc. is the story I like to write.
I often get comments on how different these two WIPs are—Capers is the homage to friendship and hope, while etc. is a shrine to cynicism—but to me, it’s like looking at the two sides of myself, a cynic and optimist, which I suppose cancel out to become a realist. In a sense, the fics are both about a similar war—hopefuls vs. apathetics—just told on different sides.
(bear with me, I’m terrible with paragraph transitions; anyone who’s graded my papers can tell you) I also owe a huge part of it to subconscious inspiration from the books I loved reading growing up, which I’ve been rereading lately. Mostly fantasy with pragmatic heroines, and I’m making a list but I’ll post it separately since this message is rambly enough.
I doodled one of them and was going to post it with this answer, but I’mma make it colored and shiny so it’ll get its own post. When I write my OF, I think the Tiffany Aching branch of the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett are going to be a huge inspiration, because she’s quite like the heroine I want to write, and I’d like to be able to inject humor like Pratchett does, not to mention the world-building for Discworld in general is phenomenal. I suppose that’s why he was knighted for services to literature.
ANYWAY I am going to awkwardly cut off this answer right here, because again, terrible at transitions.

Answer:
Literally? D: I think I can get arrested for that. The next update will likely be early to mid-January, as story submissions are closed until the end of the year anyhow.
Not derpy but flirty, and this is basically as cute as I’ll ever draw em because I’ve wanted to draw this stupid terrible complicated pose for awhile. STILL NO FEET, NOPE. Their legs just go off into the abyss.

I’ve gotten this question before, and it is still a resounding Potterpuff! He’s like a corgi whose purpose in life is to make friends and spread joy like a 365-day holiday, there is really no competition :D
I should also mention that I actually laugh at real-life broody guys like Mr. Engima Potter because I just can’t take them seriously. I liked one when I was younger and never again. They want to be ~mysterious and vague b/c they are a hot sparkly tortured soul~ and I just sit back and go O K GOOD FOR YOU you attention seeking drama king.
Now for a hint~

also for some reason, there are a lot of people who seem to think she’s going to get preggers and I’m highly amused. But it actually does get a wee bit addressed in the next chapter, so!
