Every first week of school, some first year would go missing for a whole day only to stagger out of the maze in the dead of night, gasping for food and water.

Rose brightened, almost to the point where she wouldn’t scare away first years on sight.

It was almost as if a parade were marching past the room, but Hogwarts hadn’t had one since one of the first years got stuck in their fly-trap tuba.

The no-holds barred rush commenced to the refreshments table; three first years were harmed in the process.

 James swung her around (another two first years were harmed)

etc. etc. surprisingly does not have much first year abuse, but they like to appear out of nowhere

We jostle past the feverish first years bounding out of Herbology.

I’m heading back to the dungeons when this first year barrels down the hallway out of nowhere.

A first year leaps into view behind Babbling, followed by three more girls.

i like to imagine there’s a small army of small witches and wizards ready to trip over their feet on cue

and capers ensue: WE’RE GONNA DIE - ooh biscuit.

Now for ZE FIRST RANDOM POLL because I am going to see what happens. The question of the moment: What pairings do you ship in my stories? If you don’t ship anyone, that’s a totally valid answer, too; I think a good lot of people who read Capers don’t ship anyone, actually.

It’s always fun to hear the uncommon ships, which are strangely common for what they are (Anjali/James has been mentioned multiple times, but James shows up for all of 1000 words and they’ve never spoken a word to each other. BUT HEY if you ship them, then you’re not alone!). Also, I famously ship the wrong things in my own stories, so there’s that. For the record, I’m a not-so-secret occasional shipper of Oliver/Penny, Clemence/Pickett, and crackship Potterpuff/Anjali. Not that I don’t like the other pairings, but ah, I have a fondness for probably-never-to-be pairings cough abed/annie zutara independent!korra.

Don’t be ‘fraid - just let your inner shipper flow out and reply to this post or drop a message, etc~

(Bonus question: how many ships would a shipper ship if a shipper could ship ships?)

se-ra-phine: I thought about it, and the cupcake has been the best wingman in the whole story. Gets the whole cast through apologies, cheering people up, bribing, baking dates, and so self-sacrificial. I support Scorcake.

I drew this a few months ago, but it was basically my comeback to drawing after a year. Every time I look at it I super cringe. Bea doesn’t even look Chinese. Anjali is crooked. Scorpius… well he looks like Alex P, which is good enough.
